Ginger Kolbaba & Christy Scannell's Bio:

Ginger Kolbaba is Editor of Marriage Partnership magazine, a publication of Christianity Today International. She has also worked on the editorial staff of Leadership journal, a publication for pastors; as an associate editor of MP’s sister publication Today’s Christian Woman; and an assistant editor of Preaching Today. She has been a columnist for Let’s Worship and has published more than 150 articles. In addition, Ginger has appeared on national venues such as CNN's Nancy Grace and Catherine Crier Live and Family Life radio.

An accomplished book author, Ginger was co-author/collaborator of Refined by Fire (Tyndale), a 2005 Gold Medallion finalist that received a starred review in Publishers Weekly. She has written several other non-fiction books: Dazzled to Frazzled and Back Again:The Bride’s Survival Guide (Revell) and Surprised by Remarriage: A Guide to the Happily Even After (Revell). She has collaborated on several books including The Five Sex Needs of Men and Women (Tyndale). Ginger’s first novel, co-written with her friend Christy Scannell, titled Desperate Pastors’ Wives (Howard/Simon & Schuster) was recently released. The follow-up, A Matter of Wife and Death, is scheduled to be released in Spring 2008.

Before becoming an editor/writer, she worked as a professional actress/singer/speaker. “It’s amazing how God lets you realize one dream—acting—to show you your real passion—for me it’s helping, educating, and entertaining people through writing and editing.”

She’s a pastor’s kid (both her parents are ordained ministers), which she used as a loose basis for her novels. She lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, Scott; her Doberman puppy, Bella; her book collection; her husband’s inventions; and her dusty, out-of-tune piano.

Christy Scannell is the associate editor of The San Diego Metropolitan, a monthly business magazine, and the North Park News, a quaint community newspaper. A freelance editor and writer, Christy’s first novel, Desperate Pastors' Wives, with co-author Ginger Kolbaba, debuted in March 2007 from Howard Books/Simon & Schuster as part of a three-book Secrets from Lulu's Café series. Also a featured columnist for the new magazine Catholic Couples, Christy loves to teach workshops at Christian writers' conferences and is a mentor for the Christian Writers Guild and a staff member of The Christian Communicator. For ten years, Christy was editorial director at Rainbow Publishers/Legacy Press, where she oversaw the acquisition and publication of Christian non-fiction books for children and teachers. During her tenure, she developed and edited over a hundred books including the best-selling God and Me! and Gotta Have God devotional series and The Christian Girl's Guide to... series. Prior to her publishing career, she was a public relations writer and event coordinator for a variety of businesses including a university and a bank. Christy holds an M.A. in communication from San Diego State University and a B.A. in mass communication/journalism from Anderson University.
