Josh McDowell's Bio:
Best-selling author and renowned speaker Josh McDowell never intended to be a defender of the Christian faith. In fact, his goal was just the opposite. As a skeptic at Kellogg College in Michigan, McDowell accepted a challenge from a group of Christian students to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity. His discovery that the Bible was the most historically reliable document of all antiquity and that Christ’s claim that He was God was true changed the course of McDowell’s life forever. After accepting Christ as the Son of God and his personal Savior, he completed his bachelor’s degree in language at Wheaton College in Illinois and later, a master’s degree in theology from Talbot Theological Seminary in California.
Josh McDowell joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International and became a traveling representative focusing primarily on issues facing young people. He has spoken to more than ten million youth in 84 countries, including over 700 university and college campuses.
McDowell has written or co-written over 100 books on topics ranging from Christian apologetics to common problems facing youth. Several of his works, including The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict, More Than a Carpenter, Beyond Belief to Convictions and Right from Wrong, are bestsellers that are recognized as leading books on the Christian faith.
McDowell’s latest written work, The Last Christian Generation, explores the impact of a cultural view of Christianity, truth, reality and the church that has distorted how our young people understand God. It goes on to examine what it will take to correct these false views of God to help churches and their families rebuild the true foundations of the faith within this generation.
