Abortion: A Rational Look at an Emotional Issue

by R. C. Sproul

Review  |   Author Bio  |  Read an Excerpt

Abortion: a Rational Look at an Emotional Issue reads like an academic paper but with an incredibly adept emphasis on remaining leveled at a layperson audience: strong arguments, sound rationale, and thoroughly understandable explanations. Dr. R.C. Sproul, a robust presence among Christian theologians, shows within this text a logical and systematic approach to the analysis of abortion.

The book addresses the ethics involved, analyzes the pro-choice arguments, and offers a response and strategy. Throughout the book’s three sections, issues are further broken down and assessed on a piece-by-piece basis.

Though the vast majority of the book feels unbiased and logical, leading terminology is sprinkled here and there, giving subtitle favoritism to the side of pro-life. The arguments, however, are quite strong, well researched and quite convincing

Overall, this book tackles the issues well, delivering everything it promises and more. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good summary of the issues or to anyone wanting to be generally informed. – Matthew J. Mimnaugh,
